We had an excellent stay here! The accommodation was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and always available in case we needed anything. I would definitely book this cottage again!

Well appointed cottage, all bedrooms and en-suites are a good size, beautiful lounge and conservatory. The cottage was incredibly clean and looked after. Hot Tub and Pool are a great bonus. Location is central to Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland. Gretna is close by with a great Shopping Outlet. Gordon and Dawn are great hosts and nothing was too much trouble.

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Garth Cottage , beautiful place , very nicely decorated and equipped , attention to detail so good , just lovely gorgeous kitchen and superb bathrooms , plus all other rooms excellent , fab area handy for Yorkshire , Lakes and Scotland plus we had good weather seem to miss the storm that hit the UK , great Hot tub and indoor pool , not forgetting lovely hosts Gordon and Dawn , hopefully will return but would love to try Peel Castle absolutely stunning

We had a lovely stay from the 28th July until the 1st August. Dawn and Gordon were excellent hosts. The property itself was brilliant. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed. There are plenty of games and puzzles to keep everyone occupied. The family looked forward every day to their hour in the swimming pool and then the hot tub, which was adjacent to the cottage. I would suggest arranging a food delivery unless you are eating out. There are two Spars though and a co-op in the village. The cottage has a parking disc available for use.

Fantastic holiday in 5 star accommodation with owners Dawn & Gordon on site & ready to assist if required. The private pool & hot tub were a big hit with the grandkids. With shopping & sightseeing all around in Carlisle Newcastle Hexham ect. Locally Brampton is a lovely village with great restaurants & take aways.Highly recommend & will definitely book again.Derek

Nice quality refurb of an old building and all the facilities you need. Hot tub handy just outside the conservatory and you can book an hour slot in the big pool daily (all to yourselves and it is a big pool). Bedrooms are all ensuite and plenty of room. Dawn and Gordon made us most welcome and the local food pack they left was much appreciated. The location is good with local shops etc in easy walking distance and for touring about its in a great location for both Hadrians wall and roman forts to the east and the Lakes to the west. Certainly if I’m down that way again it would be lovely to restay here.

We had a lovely relaxing time. Dawn and Gordon are great hosts, always friendly and quick to help. The pool and hot tub were a lovely treat. Great base for Hadrian’s Wall and Carlisle. I’d love to go back.

Superb accommodation in a very good location. Dawn and Gordon were excellent hosts. Beds and sofas were some of the best we’ve ever had in a rental.

We spent Christmas here and we stayed for 4 nights. Dawn & Gordon were lovely & welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The house was absolutely stunning, finished to a high spec & they have thought of everything. The whole house was immaculate and well thought out. The hot tub was amazing & the pool was such a nice added bonus. The location makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are literally a few minutes from local shops. The grounds are all well looked after and we would definitely recommend & will hopefully book again soon.

Absolutely fabulous,setting for any occasion with family or friends and with nearby town ten minutes walk very quaint hosting friendly pubs and eateries.

The hosts Dawn and Gordon were fantastic nothing was any problem and always on hand .

Quiet carefree relaxing beautiful setting .

All of the properties have been done to a very high standard. We loved studio bed was so comfortable we loved everything about it. We used the pool and hot tub every day was excellent. We will stay there again thank you Dawn & Gordon.

Wonderful property, finished to a very high standard and very well equipped, nothing has been missed. Lovely swimming pool and the hot tub was spotlessly clean and oh so warm. Dawn & Gordon, the owners, welcomed us, and we’re always on hand if needed.

The location was great, really good base for exploring Cumbria. The little market town of Brampton was just a 10 minute walk away, there you have shops, plenty of takeaways/restaurant and a lovely foodie pub ‘The Howard’s Arms’ which is super. I would thoroughly recommend Garth Cottage

We booked last minute (10pm night before) and the owners Gordon & Dawn couldn’t have been more accommodating even though it was late. Well finished studio and grounds with high end spec and great attention to detail. Hot tub a lovely touch after a long day walking nearby. Local pub was lovely too. Gordon showed us round the other accommodation which is some of the nicest we’ve seen in the UK…. great for all sizes of groups. Added bonus of an indoor heated swimming pool. We loved our stay at Castlestead! The accommodation is absolutely stunning, and the quality of the finishings were top notch. Our son loved the swimming pool and we thoroughly enjoyed a soak in the hot tub after a days walking. The location is perfect and we would happily return for another relaxing break away.

You want for nothing at Peel Castle. The quality of the property is second to none. Hot tub & use of the owners indoor heated swimming pool topped it all off. Amazing property & Dawn & Gordon are fantastic hosts.

We had 7 amazing days here. The quality, finish and cleanliness is fantastic. Dawn and Gordon are wonderful hosts. You get the impression nothing is too much trouble. Had five great nights here the studio we stayed in was spottlessly clean throughout, beautiful comfortable bed, freestanding bath and ultra modern kitchen and bathroom with everything we needed for a amazing stay. Topped off with a private hot tub and swimming pool couldn’t of wanted more. Dawn and Gordon were amazing hosts very friendly and welcoming would highly recommend Garth Studio as a place to stay we will definitely stay again.

We can’t begin to tell you how stunning this cottage is; furnished to a high standard; exceptionally clean and beautiful fixtures & fittings! All three bedrooms are en suite with fabulous beds & beautiful white towels & bathrobes!

We were delighted to find we were the first people to stay in Peel Castle. The property is beautiful and equipped with everything you need. It’s finished to a very high standard and has loads of space. The bedrooms are HUGE, all ensuite and beautifully finished. The roof terrace with sun loungers, patio furniture, a sink and fridge are perfect. We had super weather whilst visiting so made use of the garden and terrace. Could easily have spent a fortnight here, it is lovely. Thanks Dawn and Gordon for a superb stay!

The accommodation is top class, with the swimming pool and hot tub, just topping it off.

We had an amazing stay at Castlesteads!

Our hosts, Dawn and Gordon, were lovely – we arrived to a bottle of wine, bacon & sausages as well as recommendations for days/meals out in the local area.

The accommodation is luxury, well resourced and spacious. Our children loved our daily swim session in the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub with fantastic views.

It was a great base for days out at Hadrian’s Wall and Aira Force Waterfall and we stopped off at Lake Windermere on the way home.

We thought that Castlesteads was great value for money and we’d recommend it to anyone!

Our stay was a combination of luxury and genuine country atmosphere. We would definitely stay again.

I highly recommend this property. The owners are lovely people and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. This property has all facilities and more. Our little boy especially enjoyed the pool which with a little phone call to Gordon was opened for our use. The location is perfect for families. Me and my family have already booked for our next stay and cannot wait.

Excellent to stay, with friendly owners who can’t do enough to help. The views were fantastic, private garden and hot tub, use of a heated pool and communal BBQ. On arrival we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and ingredients for a cooked breakfast.

Very comfortable furniture and beds, good bathrooms and kitchen, very helpful owners. Any problems were dealt with right away. Will happily return. Being January a lot of local places were closed but there is an excellent butcher/baker/deli in Brampton and we had meals in a couple of restaurants within a few miles.

If you are wanting to stay in luxury then you will not be disappointed! All aspects of the cottage have been carefully planned to ensure guests have the highest quality of amenities during their stay from bath robes to pillows, log burners to integrated music system everything is high quality! The use of the swimming pool and private hot tub made our stay even better! The owners -Gordon and Dawn – are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. If you are wanting a luxurious break Garth Cottage is the place, just perfect.

My partner and I stayed here for a short midweek break in the studio and first impressions we were blown away. We were shown around the facilities first then taken to the studio where we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a breakfast pack of bacon, sausages and eggs which we found was a great touch.

Firstly the whole Garth house, cottage and Studio is in a prime location to Brampton village, away from the main center but just set back enough to the outskirts of the village so you can relax and take in the lovely views with a walk into the center taking only roughly 5mins, here you can find local restaurants, pubs, bars etc, co-op, fish shop, church, information center and many more shops, we visited a few pubs and the locals were warm and welcoming. (Ended up in a dart competition but that story is for another day)

Secondly – The Garth house and attached cottage, studio and grounds are amazing, the owners keep it well maintained and have unbelievable passion in keeping it in tip top condition. We stayed in the studio and found the fixtures & fittings second to none, no expense Spared at all. The owners have thought of everything and we had no problems finding everything we needed, from cooking facilities to the iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. We have stayed in some locations over the years but this has to be up there with one of the best, felt really comfortable and homely.

Thirdly – The owners are absolutely fantastic, nothing was a problem to them. They were always on the end of the phone if we needed advice or if we wanted to use the pool or hot tub anytime it wasn’t a problem, we were lucky as were the only visitors stopping but my partner and I had a feeling they would accommodate and help anyone which was great. Credit to them as they never stop but ultimately make you feel welcome and at home which made us relax better. My partner forgot her flip flops and Gordon brought her some, anything we needed they helped us with.

Fourthly – the facilities such as the pool and hot tub are brilliant, the pool was slightly heated not to warm nor cold, clean tidy and very relaxing, you could book this and use it for an hour or so which we found enough (owners were happy for us to use it longer providing no one else had booked it) the studio had its own hot tub and was easily accessible from the room. The cottage which is situated next to the studio also had its own hot tub and both were private and secluded looking into a lovely view of fields to the rear of the property.

Overhaul 10/10 we booked this on a kind of let’s suck it and see basis and realised we actually found a gem. Would certainly recommend and if you are reading this and are thinking of booking the cottage, all I can say is OMG!! Sleeps up to 6 and it is second to none (grand designs eat your heart out) amazing!!

Don’t hesitate book now you won’t be disappointed!
